An inventory of the property is an essential document for every tenancy. The introduction of the Tenancy Deposit Scheme has made it impossible to recover costs of damages and loss without accurate and unbiased documentation to substantiate your claim.

An inventory is a complete record of every item in the property, from the fixtures and fittings, decoration and furniture content. This is substantiated with an accurate description and comment of each item. So if you feel that it’s not necessary on an empty property, please think again. The inventory details every wall, plug socket, lighting fixture door and architrave. If these were missing or damaged at the end of the tenancy it would be costly to put right.
